Dr. Ray Fowler was one of this year’s 2011 EMS 10 awardees for innovation in EMS for his groundbreaking work on getting Emergency Medicine recognized as a medical specialty. This paves the way for recognition not only of the ER physicians certified in this specialty but also for those leaders in the Emergency Medical Services like EMTs and Paramedics who train to take this specialty into the field and treat patients prior to their arrival at the hospital.
